The 10th RETTmobil - The Continuation of a Success |
|
10th RETTmobil in Fulda - the European leading exhibition for rescue and mobility - has just closed its doors. Exactly 19,752 visitors have attended the trade fair in just 3 days, more than expected this year. The trade fair has again proved a magnet for rescue workers, ambulance staff, paramedics and fire-fighters. In addition many members and decision-makers from public authorities, municipalities and associations have come to RETTmobil 2010 in order to obtain information on current developments and the latest rescue techniques. "We had an unexpectedly high number of visitors", concluded Thomas Strobel, managing director of the famous rescue vehicle manufacturer System Strobel: "On the second day it was difficult to cope with the massive turn-out of visitors." According to the exhibition management the expansion of parking space has stood the test. Due to the addition of 300 parking lots, which had been finished in time by the city of Fulda for the purpose of RETTmobil, traffic flow could be improved. Messe Fulda's Managing Director Dieter Udolph expressed his satisfaction: "A look at the exhibition stands confirms that the fair has risen again in quality. We also see this as a further strengthening of the trade fair site Fulda." Also the accompanying RETTmobil education and training event under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Peter Sefrin has again enjoyed high popularity. Sefrin had a very positive assessment: "All advanced training courses were fully booked." The workshops were well received. In total almost 600 participants took the opportunity to further their education. The safety of emergency operations has been the topic on the training course in the open air. There the drivers of fire engines from the district of Fulda were instructed in the safe control of vehicles. The 10th RETTmobil has again fulfilled the expectations. "We are absolutely satisfied with the positive acknowledgement", summarized Chairman Manfred Hommel of the Community of Interests of Manufacturers of Ambulances and Emergency Vehicles (IKR). "90 percent of the exhibitors are extremely satisfied with the fair and the business development", said Hommel. He is also happy about the communication with representatives and personnel from aid organizations, fire departments, army and THW: "The RETTmobil is the outstanding platform for everyone involved in emergency services." Hommel himself was a participant in a video-conference of the EMS Safety Foundation, for which a delegation from the U.S. had come to RETTmobil in order to discuss the issue of safety and compare the quality of European and American technical standards with participants from all over the world via the Internet. The recorded video-stream is available to all registered users at: http://www.EMSSafetyFoundation.org . Many exhibitors have already filled out their applications for next year's RETTmobil. The off-road course and safety training on the test track will again play a prominent role at the next RETTmobil and will contribute to the RETTmobil motto: "Experiencing Rescue and Mobility". Captain Schrüfer of the German Bundeswehr, who has shown strong presence with his sanitary soldiers from Feldkirchen, drew up a very positive summary of the 10th RETTmobil: "We are extremely satisfied with the opportunities here and had a very good response from visitors." RETTmobil 2011 is not too far away. Next year the Leading Exhibition for Rescue and Mobility in Europe will be back with many thousands of visitors. The 11th RETTmobil is already firmly scheduled: It once again will take place in Fulda from 11th - 13th of May 2011.
